Redland Park supports a local and international charity each year. Here are the  2008-9 charities.

INTERNATIONAL: Uganda School Project

Backed by schools in Bristol, this project fosters relationships between our two countries and cultures enabling each to learn from each other in the context of education. Of course, the material needs of the schools in Masindi are huge, and we work together to enable them to equip their schools with some of the things which we would regard as absolute necessities.  Redland Park member Lesley Brentley, a Bristol secondary school teacher, has visited the project as one of the local teachers supporting the work.

LOCAL: BRACE

BRACE is one of a few charities solely dedicated to supporting dementia research and, although it is generally considered to be a regional charity, the work it supports and the resultant findings bring benefits to dementia sufferers throughout the UK and internationally.

Redland Park also regularly supports Traidcraft which sells goods from Third World countries at fair prices that guarantees a better deal for the people who produce them and their families. They cut out the middle men and deal directly with producers. The Traidcraft stall is open after Sunday morning service at Redland Park.

Redland Park regularly runs fund raising events for the charities they support.  These include concerts, fayres, cake sales, quizzes and sponsored activities.

We also organise special fund raising collections for world disaster emergencies such as the tsunami and the Pakistan earthquake appeals. Gift Aid envelopes are available in the church pews or from the treasurer.
