Junior Church at Redland Park is meant to be informative, faith building and fun. We aim to give our children and young people a sound basis of the Christian faith to enable them to make their own judgements and decisions in a friendly and non pressurised environment. We have a team of experienced and committed teachers many of them with children of their own at the church. There are classes for all ages from toddlers in the creche to teenagers on the point of leaving school or going on to higher education.Youth and Childrens Work at Redland Park is also closely linked with our Junior Church.
We use discussion groups, games, music, visual aids and practical exercises to aid understanding of Bible stories and Christian values and how they apply to modern life. At Redland Park children are, subject to parental approval, encouraged to take part in Communion Services. Although our young people leave the Sunday morning congregation for their own classes they also regularly take part in all-age services, providing dramatic and musical presentations to aid the worship.
A group of adults and youngsters regularly play football on the Downs on a Sunday afternoon, and we take part in the annual URC football tournament. There is a series of activity weekends at the church during the year, as well as a holiday club during the summer holidays.
These are planned and run by our Junior Church team, including our Young People, and are attended by children from the local primary schools as well as our own Junior Church children.
We always welcome new members.Jane Rogers, Junior Church Leader
